Boys’ Brigade

A Christian uniformed group in schools to nurture Youth, based on Christian values to serve and lead.

The Boys’ Brigade (BB) is an international uniformed youth group that exists in many countries and has more than 100 years of history. The Boys’ Brigade was founded in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith in Scotland. It is the world’s first uniformed youth organisation that inspired numerous other groups, such as The Girls’ Brigade and Boy Scouts. The 1st Singapore Company was founded in 1930 in Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church by James Milner Fraser who came to Singapore as an architect.

The BB Objective, Vision, Mission, Beliefs and the Desired Outcomes of BB Members guide our adult officers in delivering a well-balanced programme to ensure the all-round development of members. It covers four aspects:

  1. Physical
  2. Social
  3. Spiritual
  4. Educational

BB Motto
The motto “Sure and Stedfast” is taken from Hebrews 6:19 (KJV).
